Nike

Air Force 1

Maybe the most timeless sneaker out there. Born in 1982 and still one of the best selling shoes ever. As hip hop as they get. As fresh as can be.

The Nike Air Force 1 would’ve never gained the fame that it has today if it wasn’t for the rapscene in the US. Celebrating the kick and the 25th anniversary of its release, Nike dropped the 2007 all-time banger Classic, produced by DJ Premier with lyrics by Kanye West, Nas, Rakim and KRS-One. Both Jay-Z and Nelly had before then praised the shoe on their albums. With a loyal crowd like that, it’s no wonder that Nike never spent any money on marketing the Air Force 1.

It’s probably only the Air Jordan 1 which has ever paralleled the hype and fame that Air Force 1s enjoy globally. The Nike AF1 is capable of crossing worlds and is today equal parts dad shoe, hip hop, and fashion.

Almost 40 years into the business and the Air Force 1 is one of the few kicks that have succeeded in staying top-of-mind generation after generation; one of the few that have been beating the streets for decades all over the world - and will continue to do so in the decades to come.
